Returns & Refunds Policy

1. Overview
At Red Cedar Contracting, we strive to provide high-quality construction services and materials. Due to the nature of our industry, our return and refund policy is designed to balance fairness to our customers with the practical realities of construction projects.

2. Custom Orders and Services

  • Custom Materials or Products: Custom-ordered materials, products, or services (e.g., made-to-order items, tailored designs) are non-refundable and non-returnable unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

  • Project Deposits: Deposits for construction projects are non-refundable once work has commenced, as they cover initial planning, labour, and material costs.

3. Standard Materials and Products

  • Unused Materials: Unused, non-custom materials in their original packaging may be eligible for return within 30 days of purchase, subject to inspection and approval. A restocking fee of 10%-20% may apply.

  • Defective Materials: If materials are defective or damaged upon delivery, please notify us within 7 days of receipt. We will arrange for a replacement or refund, subject to inspection.

4. Services and Labour

  • Unsatisfactory Workmanship: If you are unsatisfied with the quality of our workmanship, please notify us immediately. We will work with you to resolve the issue, within reason.

  • Project Cancellation: If a project is cancelled after work has begun, you will be responsible for payment of all labour, materials, and costs incurred up to the date of cancellation.

5. Refund Process

  • To request a return or refund, contact us at TaneS@redcedarcontracting.com within the specified time-frames.

  • Returns must be accompanied by a valid receipt or proof of purchase.

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 14 days of approval.

6. Non-Refundable Items
The following items are non-refundable:

  • Custom or made-to-order materials.

  • Materials that have been used, installed, or altered.

  • Labour costs for completed work.

  • Clearance or discounted items (unless defective).

7. Exchanges
We do not offer exchanges for custom or made-to-order items. For standard materials, exchanges may be available at our discretion, subject to availability and inspection.

8. Compliance with BC Consumer Protection Laws
This policy complies with the British Columbia Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (BPCPA), which protects consumers from unfair practices. If you believe your consumer rights have been violated, you may contact the Consumer Protection BC office for assistance.
